Gina devotes her practice to first party property coverage matters, primarily involving suspected arson and insurance fraud. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Smith was a prosecutor for twelve years and was Deputy Chief Assistant for the Florida Office of Statewide Prosecution. While with that office, she did extensive work in the areas of white collar crime, health care fraud and insurance fraud. She has considerable jury trial experience, was board certified in criminal trial law until shifting to civil practice, and is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell.
Ms. Smith received her Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors, in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley (1975) and her Masters in Public Administration from the University of Southern California (1977). She graduated, with honors, from the Florida State University College of Law and was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1987. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts, the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th and 11th Circuits.
