Denise M. Anderson is a Partner at Butler Pappas.

Denise is the Chair person of the Firm's Construction Defect Litigation Practice Group and is a member of the Casualty Defense department of the Tampa office. Practicing primarily in the fields of construction defect and product liability, she has handled numerous complex construction matters including the representation of a variety of trades involving roofing, stucco, electrical, HVAC, windows, general contractors, design professionals, land developers, suppliers/manufacturers, groundwork, masonry, waterproofing, fire protection and plumbing. She also has over 14 years experience in handling large property loss subrogation matters. Denise has handled cases throughout the southeast portion of the United States.

Denise is a native Floridian and has been employed with Butler Pappas since November 1995. She received her Bachelor of Arts, with high honors, from Auburn University (1991) and her Juris Doctorate from Mercer University School of Law (1994).

Denise is licensed to practice in the state and federal courts of Florida and the state courts of Georgia. Her professional memberships include The Florida Bar, the State Bar of Georgia, the Hillsborough Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Hillsborough Association of Women Lawyers, the Defense Research Institute and the National Association of Subrogation Professionals. Denise is also the National Membership Vice Chairperson of the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys (ADTAwhere she presently serves on four Committees:  New Generation, Diversity, Webinar and Long Range Planning. In addition, Denise has served as a Florida delegate for the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM) since 2011 to the present and she is a member of the Construction Defect Committee.  She was recently appointed to serve as the Chairperson of the Steering Committee for the CLM's production of a Claims Handling Manual which is national initiative being undertaken by 150 attorneys from across the U.S. and Canada.

Ms. Anderson is also an AV peer- rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.

Extended Biography

Denise has authored publications in national journals and lectured on a variety of civil litigation topics at national conferences and at in-house seminars for insurance company clients; including but not limited to evidence preservation, right to repair statutes, Daubert, trial skills for younger lawyers and managing costs in complex construction claims.

She has also been an active member of the Junior League of Tampa since 2002, serving on committees for community projects to assist foster children, children aging out of foster care, children's literacy, among others.
